Proper Layer Structure
Models organized with layers and renovation filters matched to your firm's Archicad conventions.
Scan to BIM · Native Archicad Modeling
We convert your laser scan data into precise, native Archicad models — built with proper layers, renovation filters and GDL-based elements so your team can design and document without rework.

Problem Statement
Archicad-centric practices still receive point clouds and Revit-centric deliverables that fight their libraries, composites and documentation templates — forcing remapping and rework before renovation design can proceed.
Our Solution
BIMZ Studio builds Archicad models directly from your registered cloud using composites, favorites and layer conventions your team already uses — so renovation and documentation start in a familiar environment.

Benefits
A dedicated Archicad modeling service built for teams standardized on Graphisoft's virtual building approach.
Models organized with layers and renovation filters matched to your firm's Archicad conventions.
Walls, slabs and openings modeled as true Archicad elements, not imported mesh geometry.
Element placement checked against the source point cloud with a documented deviation pass.
Models structured to drop cleanly into BIMcloud or Teamwork project environments.
Fixed-scope projects ship in 5–10 business days from confirmed scope.
Workflow
An Archicad-native pipeline that respects your renovation filters and layer conventions from the first element.
Upload your registered scan; we confirm survey point, story heights and units against your Archicad template.
Your point cloud is linked into Archicad using your firm's template, layers and renovation filters.
Walls, slabs, roofs and openings are modeled using native Archicad tools to your specified LOD.
Every element is checked against the source point cloud for tolerance before handover.
You receive an organized PLN file with two rounds of included revisions.
Methodology
Practical definitions, limitations and commercial factors — written so they stay true from one project to the next.
Point Cloud to Archicad is Scan-to-BIM delivered as a native Archicad project: stories, composites and GDL-based elements modeled against a registered point cloud, not as an imported mesh.
Use this route when your office documents in Graphisoft Archicad. Use Point Cloud to Revit when the ongoing platform is Autodesk Revit. Capture method is the same; authoring platform is the difference. IFC can be issued from either when OpenBIM exchange is in the brief.
Typical inputs are a registered E57, RCP/RCS or PTS cloud plus your Archicad template, layers and renovation filters when you have them. Typical deliverables are a native PLN at the agreed LOD, with IFC or drawing extracts only when scoped.
Model reliability follows the registered cloud. Poor registration, occlusions and hidden services are not invented. Project tolerance is agreed against the scan evidence.

Deliverables
Every Archicad engagement ships as a ready-to-open project, structured the way your team already works.
Fully structured Archicad model with layers, renovation filters and stories set up.
A log of composite structures, complex profiles and attributes used throughout the model.
Documented accuracy checks comparing modeled elements to the source scan.
Pre-configured views and layout book matched to your documentation standards on request.
Signed-off confirmation that the model meets your specified LOD and accuracy targets.
LOD Support
LOD is specified by category and project stage. Not every engagement requires every LOD.
LOD 200
Generalized systems and approximate quantities for schematic design coordination.
LOD 300
Accurate size, shape, location and orientation suitable for design development.
LOD 350
Interfaces with adjacent systems defined for multi-discipline clash coordination.
LOD 400
Detail sufficient for fabrication, assembly and construction documentation.
Software Used
Industry-standard authoring and QA software, chosen to match how your team already works.
Graphisoft Archicad
Primary native authoring platform for element-based modeling.
Autodesk Navisworks Manage
Cross-platform federated review and clash coordination.
Autodesk ReCap Pro
Point cloud registration and cleanup.
BIMcloud
Team collaboration and model hosting.
CloudCompare
Deviation analysis against the source scan.

FAQ
Answers to what teams most often ask before starting a point cloud to archicad project.
Yes. We link your point cloud into your firm's Archicad template and build using your existing layers and renovation filters.
Most Point Cloud to Archicad projects are delivered at LOD 200–400, depending on your documentation stage.
Yes, we can model using your provided composites and complex profiles, or build to Archicad defaults if none are supplied.
