General
What we deliver and how engagement typically starts.
Which BIM services does BIMZ Studio offer?
We deliver end-to-end Scan to BIM, point cloud processing, native Revit and Archicad modeling, MEP coordination, clash detection, drafting, shop drawings, IFC exchange, as-built documentation and facility-management BIM.
Do you work with global project teams?
Yes. We deliver remotely to architecture, engineering and construction teams worldwide, aligning to your BIM execution plan, coordinate system and software standards.
What is Scan to BIM?
Scan to BIM is the process of converting registered laser-scan point clouds into intelligent BIM models. Teams use those models for renovation design, as-built documentation, clash coordination, fabrication and facility management.
When should we involve BIMZ Studio on a project?
As soon as you have a registered point cloud, survey package or clear LOD brief. Early involvement helps lock coordinate systems, modeling standards and QA criteria before modeling begins.
Where can I find guides, FAQ and downloads?
The Resource Center at /resources links to the blog, guides, whitepapers, Knowledge Center, FAQ, glossary, downloads and global search. Use site search when you need a specific term or topic.
Technical
Formats, LOD, software and accuracy expectations.
What point cloud formats do you accept?
We routinely work with E57, RCP/RCS, PTS, PTX, LAS/LAZ and other common laser-scan formats from Leica, FARO, Trimble and equivalent platforms.
What LOD can you deliver?
We model to LOD 200 through LOD 500 depending on project stage — from approximate geometry for schematic coordination through fabrication-ready and verified as-built record models.
Which software do you deliver models in?
Native Revit and Archicad files as standard, plus IFC, NWC and DWG on request. Deliverables follow your template, naming conventions and version requirements where provided.
How do you ensure model accuracy?
Every scan-derived model passes deviation checks against the source cloud, plus discipline QA and clash review before delivery. A QA summary is included with each handover.
Can you match our office Revit or Archicad standards?
Absolutely. Share your template, naming conventions, worksets or favorites and we author to those standards so models drop cleanly into your production environment.
Do you support openBIM / IFC exchange?
Yes. Native Revit and Archicad delivery is standard, and we can issue IFC packages aligned to your exchange requirements for multi-platform coordination and handover.
Delivery & Process
Timelines, QA, collaboration and standards alignment.
How long does a typical Scan to BIM project take?
Most point cloud to BIM projects ship in 5–10 business days after scope confirmation, depending on floor area, discipline count and requested LOD. Clash-only or documentation packages are often faster.
Do you perform clash detection as part of modeling?
Yes. Coordinated MEP and multi-discipline engagements include clash passes against architecture and structure before delivery. Standalone clash detection reviews are also available for federated models.
How do you collaborate with our project team?
We work inside your CDE or preferred exchange workflow, issue progress models for review, track open questions, and can join coordination meetings or provide recorded walkthroughs when needed.
Are you ISO 19650 aligned?
Yes. Our information management practices align with ISO 19650 principles — clear exchange information requirements, controlled containers, and auditable delivery packages suited to your BEP.
Commercial
Proposals, NDAs, pricing scope and global delivery.
How quickly can we receive a proposal?
Most scoped proposals are returned within 24 hours of receiving your brief, sample files or registered point cloud. Complex multi-building portfolios may take up to three business days.
Do you sign an NDA before reviewing scan data?
Yes. We sign your NDA or ours before any point cloud or project files are shared, and all files are stored on access-controlled infrastructure.
How is pricing scoped?
Proposals are fixed-price where scope is clear, based on building type, floor area, LOD, disciplines and deliverable formats. Use the quote wizard or email a brief to receive a scoped response rather than a generic estimate.
What do you need to start a project?
A registered point cloud (or survey package), target LOD, preferred authoring platform, coordinate system notes, and any office templates or BIM standards. Incomplete inputs are flagged early so scope stays accurate.
